Letter of Inquiry
The first step in applying for funding from The Lumpkin Family Foundation is the submission of a Letter of Inquiry. Each of our Program Areas accepts Letters of Inquiry according to an annual Timetable. Your Letter of Inquiry will be reviewed to determine whether the proposed effort fits sufficiently within Our Mission and Program Goals to merit further review. If so, we will invite you to submit a full application. We will not consider full applications unless they have been requested. Letters of inquiry are not required for Micro Grants. Please use the on-line micro- grant application.

Please submit a letter of inquiry to the appropriate person listed above and include the following information:
- Your organization's mission statement; Geographic locations that your organization serves (e.g., Coles County, IL); Name and contact information for your Executive Director including email; Estimated budget of your organization for current fiscal year; Amount your organization is requesting from The Foundation; Brief description of the project for which you seek funding (2-3 paragraphs) Brief description of desired outcomes for the project, e.g. What does success look like?
- Brief description
of how your organization will spend the funds if a grant is made.
- Note: A full budget and budget narrative will be requested if your organization if invited to submit a full application.
Please do not include annual reports, videotapes or other additional material at this stage.
Letters of inquiry can be submitted by mail or by email. Submitting by fax is discouraged. Please do not submit your letter of inquiry by multiple means (mail AND email) as this becomes confusing.
