Grant-Making
The Foundation awards grants to support education and preventative health programs and has a particular interest in those that focus on increasing local philanthropy and volunteerism. The Foundation has also historically supported rural libraries. Libraries applying for grants of less than $2,500, may use our online micro-grant application.
The first step in applying for a grant is the submission of a letter of inquiry. Click here for more information on submitting a letter of inquiry. Illinois Arts Alliance Foundation
Coles Community Health Program, Charleston, $60,000
To underwrite a portion of the build-out expenses and furnishings of the new health center as well funding six months of operating expenses.
Mattoon Community Unit District #2, Mattoon, $25,000
To support increasing the capacity of the district-wide organization to become a collaborative, professional learning community to improve student learning.
Camp Care-A-Lot, Springfield, $2,500
To support children from the East Central Illinois area attending the camp during its 10th year in operation.
The Little Theatre on the Square, Sullivan, $25,000
To assist in updating the safety, security and overall facilities of the two production buildings for the S.T.A.R. (Students' Theatre Arts Reach) Education Outreach program.
Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation, Mattoon, $100,000
For the Capital Campaign to renovate and expand the Emergency Room and support the Healthy Kids Project.
Shelby Memorial Hospital, Shelbyville, $10,000
To support the purchase of digital mammography equipment.
Charleston Community Theatre, Charleston, $2,000
To showcase actor Ed Trotta in the play Two Pennies a Mile about Abraham Lincoln for all 8th graders at Charleston Middle School.
Catholic Charities, Mattoon, approved $3,000 to support the Back to School Mobile and purchase 200+ additional backpacks.
Prairie Rivers Network, Champaign, $5,000
To complete an online communications and social media development project that will lead to an online engagement program for the organization.
Big Brothers Big Sisters- Illinois Capital Region, Springfield, $15,000
To support the purchase of new donor/volunteer software.
M.E.R.C.Y. Communities, Springfield, $8,875
To purchase Donor Perfect software & training and hire a consultant to facilitate and finalize a strategic plan.
Moultrie County Counseling Center, Sullivan, $5,000
To facilitate a nine county mental health and aging coalition meetings and a regional training to be held in East Central IL for 75-100 participants.

attract youth and publicize the availability of the books to youth in
